Meet Andrea Shieh, Placements AI's First PM in Taipei
We're excited to welcome Andrea Shieh to the Placements AI team, and to introduce a first: our first Product Manager based in Taipei.
Andrea comes to us from Shopline, one of Asia's leading e-commerce platforms, where she led a 10-person Scrum team as a Product Line Owner, coordinating across four development teams to bring a net-new product to market on a tight timeline. That launch opened the door for a major new account, the kind of outcome that makes clear why the PM role exists.
Before Shopline, she worked at Taishin International Commercial Bank as a Project Specialist, giving her a grounding in financial services that rounds out a background already built for adtech's intersection of commerce, data, and transactions.
Ad tech may be a new vertical for Andrea, but it's not unfamiliar territory. "There's a massive overlap between e-commerce and adtech, particularly in user behavior and transaction data," she says. "I'm excited to apply what I already know and hit the ground running."
On saying yes
When asked what tipped the decision, Andrea didn't hesitate: the chance to be the first PM in Taipei, with real ownership, real autonomy, and a direct line to shaping product direction from day one.
"This position offers the perfect balance of ownership and autonomy," she says. "I can bridge regional talent with global vision and truly shape where the product goes."
What she's focused on
Ask Andrea what question she most wants to answer about our customers and she'll tell you: "What are the friction points they face daily that they haven't even voiced yet?"
That's the instinct of a PM who knows the most valuable problems are rarely the ones customers put in a support ticket. She wants to get into their workflows and find what's hiding underneath the surface.
A new chapter for Placements AI
Andrea's hire reflects something real about where we're headed. With a strong engineering team already in Taipei, adding a PM on the ground means faster feedback loops, tighter collaboration, and a product built with an increasingly global perspective.
We're glad she's here.
